Landscape Architect

Bio:

The daughter of German immigrants with an agrarian background, I grew up with a great appreciation for nature, the beauty of plants and gardening. Receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Architecture with a minor in Horticulture from Cook College (Rutgers University) in 1988, I also served as a Teaching Assistant for a Woody Plant Class and a Winter Short Course (1986-1990)

Upon graduating, I worked for the Landscape Architectural Firm: Miceli Kulik Williams (1988-1991) working on park, corporate and residential design.

With a passion for residential design, I established Andrea Buckingham, Landscape Planning and Design in the Fall of 1991.

Reflecting the architecture of a home and bridging the gap between interior and exterior spaces, I seek to create outdoor spaces that engage the senses, provide areas of passive and active enjoyment, and reflect and enhance the ecological context of a site and it’s surrounding area. Weaving together a strong backbone of garden structure using high quality materials and a diverse plant palette, I work with skilled craftsmen and installers to create unique and beautiful garden spaces.
